Our website address is: https://mazeleather.com/. This website is owned and operated by John S. Maze Leather was made to share my own personal tips and insights I have learned while working with leather for a few years!

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Emails are not collected or used in an email list when commenting on a post! I will not use any email to sell to a third-party entity, any email that has consented to the subscribe boxes will be used to inform users when new posts are available!

Media

Images are usually not uploaded by users onto this platform, the only exception is when leaving a review on a purchased product!

However if you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

When filling out a contact form to reach out to me, I will only collect what is asked of you such as Name (first and/or last) and e-mail address. These emails that are collected will not be used in our newsletter. The only time I will use this email is to reply back to the person contacting me!

No email will be sold out to different third parties!

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Analytics

While coming to the Maze Leather website Google analytics uses data collection to collect specific info about where you are, the device you are logged in on, browsing actions and patterns. Generally the data collected will be a user’s IP address for location, how you use the website, type of computer(desktop, tablet or phone), operating system and browser type.

This data is collected for the purpose of improving my website and where to aim my focus!

If you want to opt-out of Google Analytics to ensure none of your personal information is collected and stored by Google Analytics, you can download and install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Who we share your data with

At Maze Leather I will not sell or share your data with anyone. This site does use a third-party email provider to store email addresses if you voluntarily signed up in our email newsletter. Any data collected will only be shared with our team ( which is one person right now).

Payments

If paying for a template or any other purchases of items I offer on this website I use Paypal or Stripe. Information used when purchasing will require some billing information and email to send item to the user. You can see Paypal Privacy Policy and Stripe Privacy Policy for more details!

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

All of your data can be extracted from our site and sent directly to you if requested! I will send any information into your email and have all of your data deleted from Maze Leather!

Maze Leather is participates with Amazon Services LLC Associates Program and eBay Partner Network. Both of these programs used throughout this site help earn the site a small amount of commision when I refer a sale their way. The company sells the item for the same exact price if you were to go to their site directly! When using these affiliate links they do use tracking cookies to know when I referred a customer to their site! But these tracking codes will expire after a short amount of time.
